Rose Francis Corodi age 88 of Brownsville, PA died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Brownsville, daughter of the late Ignazio and Bernice Cicchetti Franceschini. Rose was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, PA where she served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. She was a member of the Society of Catholic Women of St. Peter's and a former member of the Christian Mothers. A devoted member of the Catholic Daughters of America's Court Brownsville #1141. Rose served as Regent of the local court, a Diocesan officer and state appointed District Deputy of the Diocese of Greensburg. Rose was a member of the Brownsville Business & Professional Women's Club since it was chartered in 1948. She served as president for the local club, a District 12 officer and served on many state committees. Rose was a member of the Rosa Garabaldi Lodge #1818 and a dedicated volunteer at the Brownsville General Hospital for 45 years. Rose was an avid golfer and member of Nemacolin Country Club where she served as past president of the women's Golf Association and was Women's Club Champion many times. She was a member of the Western PA Golf Association of Pittsburgh and participated in many tournaments throughout the state. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Andrew W. Corodi Sister, Lillian A. Francis Brother, Albert (Bert) J. Francis She is survived by her sister, Virginia M. Galway and her children, Cindy Stirling and Mark and Patty Galway; niece, Christa Stirling and nephew, Chad Stirling and Josh Galway Niece, Alma Marcolini and her children, Karen McNamara, Andy and Christy McNamara and their daughter, Lilly Rose all of Florida, Colleen and Doug McWhorter and daughter Kate of Ohio Nephew Albert J. II and wife Nancy Francis, their son Albert J. III and Christy Francis and their son Alex of Florida Niece Teri Sigman and her sons Ryan and Robbie of Florida Niece Joyce Lemster of Pittsburgh, PA and other nieces and nephews Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home 135 Park St. Brownsville, PA on Friday from 2 - 9PM. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in the Historic Church of St. Peter , Brownsville, PA with the Rev. Joseph D. Armamento as celebrant. Entombment in Lafayette Memorial Park. The Catholic Daughters of America Court #1141 will recite the rosary on Friday afternoon at 3:00PM.
