Ronald F. (Ron) DeSalvo age 76 of Hiller, PA passed away on Saturday, April 06, 2013 in UPMC- Shadyside Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 11, 1937 in West Brownsville, PA. Son of the late George and Pauline Fantone DeSalvo. He was a Welder with the Monongahela Railroad and a former Luzerne Township Supervisor for 18 years. Member of Historic Church of St. Peter Brownsville Sons of Italy Lodge 731 Brownsville Historical Society Brownsville Library Board Member Penn Craft Community Association American Legion Post 940 West Brownsville American Italian Club of Aliquippa Fayette Expressway oganization FAECO He proudly served in the US Army Lifetime member of the Hiller Volunteer Fire Co Honorary member of West Brownsville Fire Co. Former Vice President of Brownsville Rotary Club Member of the UMWA Local 6548 International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 154 He was active with the Mon Valley Progress Council Governor Casey's Action Team Member for the Brownsville to Uniontown Section of the Mon/Fayette Expressway. He was a Strategic Planning Member of the Fayette County Infrastructure Committee. He was also instrumental in attracting SCI - Fayette Prison. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Nicola DeSalvo 2 Daughters: Dominique Palombo and husband Paul - Aliquippa, PA Vanessa Getz and husband Blake - Pittsburgh, PA 5 Grandsons: Paul, Guido, Marc, Chase and Max Sisters: Dolores Mills and husband Thomas Nancy DeSalvo Roberts Brothers: George DeSalvo and wife Dolores Larry DeSalvo and wife Connie Special loving niece: Cindy King Numerous nieces and nephews Brother-in-law: Steve Rockocy Sister and Brother-in-laws: Mary Nearing Fannie Nicola Josephine and Robert Yarup Norma Jean and Robert Trombino He was predeceased by Brothers: Roger and Joseph DeSalvo Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home 135 Park St. Brownsville, PA on Monday from 2 - 8PM. Where a prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30AM followed by at funeral mass at 10:00AM in the Historic Church of St. Peter - Brownsville, Pa with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Armamento as celebrant. Interment Lafayette Memorial Park with full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 295, 940, and 838. A parish wake service will be held Monday at 6:00PM and the Sons of Italy Frank Ricoo lodge will conduct services at 7:00PM in the funeral home.
