Nicholas Koon Obituary

Nicholas James Koon, 31, of Grindstone, Pa passed away on August 1, 2025 in Pittsburgh, Pa.  Nick was born on December 28,1993 in Washington, Pa.  He is the son of Frank Koon IV and Theresa Koon, originally from Grindstone but residing in Pensacola, Fl.

Nick attended Frazier School District and then attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pa.

First and foremost Nick was an artist. Always drawing and painting. He liked to read and could talk in-depth on a lot of subjects.  Nick enjoyed skateboarding, photography and music. There was a time when Nick would walk around playing the Ukulele and singing. Nick enjoyed the outdoors,  snowboarding and hiking were a couple of his favorites also. He lived in Colorado for a few years and wanted to make it back there again at some point. Nick loved all animals, with the exception of spiders, he hated. More recently Nicks time was spent with his much loved dog, Saetia, whom he adopted from the Humane Society. You could catch them driving around with the windows down or at one of the many parks in Pittsburgh so Saetia could play/exercise.  Nick will be very happy knowing that his dog will be staying in the family.  Nick was a prankster and loved to make people laugh.  Nick was very funny ,  very smart, very talented, very much loved and will be so very much missed.

Nick is preceded in death by his Great Aunt Mary Ann Smith , of Pensacola, Fl. She just passed away on July 26,2025.

Nick is survived by his parents, Frank IV and Theresa Koon, Pensacola, Fl. His Sister, Marissa Koon, 3 nieces Leilah, Lilyana and Lenora Koon and nephew Levi J. Koon.

Nicks Maternal Grandmother Gloria Hogsett, Brownsville ,Pa.

Nicks Paternal Grandparents Frank Koon III and Helen Koon, Grindstone, Pa.

Many Aunts and Uncles and Cousins.

Special Thanks to Skirpan Funeral Home for taking care of our beloved Nick. As per Nicks wishes there will be no services.

Special Thanks to Nicks cousin Corey King and his wife Emily for giving Saetia a loving home, nothing could make Nick happier.

We invite anyone that would like to tell a story about Nick or just say something to do so. We would love to read them.

Nick would not want us crying for him, he did not want to get old. Forever Young he will stay. Until we meet again….As Nick would say….So It Goes……
