Mary Ann (Nicola) Nearing

Mary Ann Nicola Nearing, age 84, of Brownsville, PA and formerly ofJefferson Hills died on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Havencrest Nursing Home in Monongahela, PA. She was born on May 18, 1929 in Brownsville, PA Daughter of the late Gaetano and Grace Famularo Nicola Mary Ann was Catholic by faith and was a former member of The Historic Church of St. Peter. Mary began working at age 10 at her father's Italian Grocery Store on Jackson Street in Brownsville alongside her father and her beloved Uncle - Charlie Nicotra. She also worked at Loblaw's and Bartolotta's Shop n Save. Mary Ann worked for 20 years as a Customer Service Representative for Trombino Music Centers in Belle Vernon, PA Mary Ann is survived by her 3 loving sisters: Josephine Yarup and husband Robert - Indiana, PA Twin Sisters: Norma Jean Trombino and husband Robert - Belle Vernon, PA Nancy Lee DeSalvo - Hiller, PA 2 Brothers-in-law: Steve Rockocy Sr. - Brownsville, PA Paddy Nearing - British Columbia, Canada 9 sisters-in-law: Fannie Nicola - Brownsville, PA; Marion LeBlanc & friend Arthur LaChance - New Hampshire; Viola Moss and husband Art - Ontario; Laura Parrish & husband Edward - Nova Scotia; Sheila Wilson & husband John - Winter Garden, FL; Ethel Whalen & husband Joseph - Nova Scotia; Sharon Carter and husband Fred - Ontario; Charlotte Douglas & husband Glen - Ontario; Olive Nearing - Ontario Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years: Philip Edward Nearing on August 3, 2011. Yarup Friends will be received in The Skirpan Funeral Home 135 Park Street Brownsville, PA today, Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9PM and on Thursday until 9:30AM where a Prayer Service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at the Historic Church of St. Peter - Brownsville, PA with Monsignor Roger A. Statnick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
