Mara Lee Sim

Mara Lee Sim, age 40, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 17, 2025.  Mara was born on September 4, 1984 in Uniontown.  She was the daughter of Theresa L. Faust of Brownsville, PA and the late Dennis Sim of Washington, PA.  Mara is also survived by her son, Blake Oaks of Pittsburgh, PA, several aunts, uncles and cousins, and her special grand-cousin, Kenley Zidek.

Mara was employed as a bartender with Ridge Runner Distillery in Chalk Hill. Mara graduated from Springdale High School in Pittsburgh and was studying online to become a Paralegal.  In her spare time, she greatly enjoyed the company of her dog, Millie and her two cats, Lilac and Luna.  Mara served on the Patsy Hillman Park Board and was very active in her community.  She was a volunteer advocate for parents and students in the local schools.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Skirpan Funeral Home in Brownsville where family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 2pm until 4pm with a Celebration of Life service immediately following.  www.skirpanfuneralhome.com
