Lousie Elaine (Krinock) Sobek

Louise (Krinock) Sobek, age 93, of Gold Hill, NC, formerly of Uniontown and Grindstone, PA passed on Monday, July 22, 2024. Louise was born on December 31, 1930 in Grindstone, PA, daughter of the late Andy and Margaret (Bill) Krinock.

She was a graduate of Redstone High School Class of 1948. She loved to keep in touch with classmates and worked on the Reunion Committee. She worked as a secretary at Hankins-Paulson Lumber Company for years.

On October 15, 1955 she married Pete Sobek. Together they owned and operated “Sobek’s Lounge” located along Route 51 in Smock. There she met many new friends, some of whom are still friends.

After being retired for a few years, she worked as a secretary for C & C Real Estate Agency for 13 years. In November 2017, she moved from Uniontown to North Carolina with her son Gary, where he bought a new home in an Airpark in Gold Hill, NC.

Louise loved all her neighbors and had many friends. Once you met her, she was always a friend. In earlier years, she loved to bake to give to her neighbors and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Pete on May 17, 2013; brother, Andy Krinock; as well as all her uncles and aunts, on both sides of the family.

She is survived by her son Gary, with whom she resided since her husband passed away; brother-in-law, Stanley; nephew, Jeff; nieces, Carrie, Juliann, and Patricia as well as other nieces and nephews;   cousins, Jackie (Dave) and family, and Richard and family.

Friends will be received at The Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, PA 15417 on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Cecilia Church, Grindstone with Rev. Fr. Efren Ambre officiating.
