Loretta Kay Huffman, 88 peacefully passed away in her sleep on October 4, 2023. She was
born in Grindstone, PA on February 2, 1935 to James & Margaret Duratz.
Loretta was a member of First Presbyterian Church of California, PA. She worked as a teller for
First National Bank in Brownsville before beginning her career at Brownsville General Hospital
in admissions for 27 years. She loved going out to eat and she especially loved her desserts.
She cherished her family and grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Paul Huffman
who passed away in 1961, her brother John L. Duratz, sister-in-law Helene Duratz, brother-in-
law and sister-in-law Robert & Chris Huffman and daughter-in-law Jami L. Huffman.
Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law, James and Terry Huffman whom
she loved dearly. Her grandsons, Matthew and Philip Huffman and a special granddaughter,
Kendall Duke. Also, her brother James J. Duratz, who she idolized, her sister-in-law, Gertie
Duratz, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Barb & Gary Goodge and Nancy & Doug Stanhope,
plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park St. Brownsville, PA on
Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM the hour of service with the Rev. Laura
Blank officiating. Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park.
