Leonard (Whitey) Havanets age 85 of Tower Hill#2, PA died on Friday, May 4, 2012 at his home. He was born on May 2, 1927 in Grindstone, PA. Son of the late John and Rose Brayo Havanets. Veteran of WWII Life time member of the American Legion, VFW, Masontown, PA Lifetime member of the Uniontown Elks Lifetime member of the Luzerne Twp. Fire Dept. Catholic War Veteran Post 1669 - Uniontown, PA Nixon Gun Club UMWA Local 1248 He is survived by his wife Dolores Mikulic Havanets Sister: Phyllis Jane Lizurick - Chambersburg, PA Sister-in-Law: Anna Havanets - Seatontown, PA Step Brother: John Ferenci and wife Dorothy - Hiller, PA Special Niece: Stacie Rude Several Nieces and Nephews He was predeceased by Stepmother: Esther Havanets Brother: Edward and Bernard Havanets Sister: Mary Jane Stacoviak Alice Jane Swaney Brothers-in-law: Ralph Swaney and Albert Lizurick Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home 135 Park St. Brownsville, PA on Monday from 2 - 9PM. and on Tuesday until 11:15AM when a prayer service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00Noon at Holy Rosary R.C. Church - Republic, PA with the Rev. Fr. William C. McGuirk as celebrant. Interment Lafayette Memorial Park with military rites accorded by the VFW and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 both of Masontown, PA. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Rosary Church or favorite charity.
