Irene F. (Sabatini) Taffoni

Irene Sabatini Taffoni age 89, of Brownsville, PA died peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at her home. She was born on November 6, 1922. The daughter of the late Frank and Marina Conollati Sabatini. Irene was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville, PA Catholic Daughters of America Confraternity of Christian Mothers She graduated from Brownsville High School Class of 1941 As a devoted wife and mother she delayed continuing her education until her children were raised. She then decided to pursue her career by graduating from California University of PA with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She taught in the Brownsville School Area District for 22 years before retiring. She was also a member of the PSEA In addition to her parents Irene was predeceased by her loving husband, Ernest Taffoni on August 3, 1993. She is survived by 3 Children: Rosalie Taffoni Barli and husband Jack - Brownsville, PA Carol Taffoni Kelley and husband Charles - Uniontown, PA Albert Taffoni - Brownsville, PA 5 Grandchildren: Charlie Kelley and wife Nicole - McDonald, PA Christopher Barli - Brownsville, PA Carrie Lynn Kelley Fuller and husband John - Trafford, PA Nicholas Taffoni and Abbey Lynn Taffoni - both of Brownsville, PA 4 Great Grandchildren: Braydon Taffoni, Landon Taffoni, Nico Kelley and Anthony Kelly 2 Brothers: Domineck Sabatini and wife Judy - Brownsville, PA Leo Sabatini - Aliquippa, PA Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends Irene was loved by all and will be sadly missed. Her Strong religious faith kept her strong and at peace. Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home 135 Park St. Brownsville, PA on Wednesday from 2 - 8PM. Where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:00AM in the Historic Church of St. Peter - Brownsville, PA with the Rev. Fr. James Clark as celebrant. Interment Lafayette Memorial Park. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Amedisys Hospice and to her devoted caregiver, Gloria Coffey.
