Christina A. Pitek, 99, of Brownsville, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at home. She was born on May 27, 1925, in Hiller, PA.
She was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Kovalchick) Vetter.
Christina (Tina) devoted her life to caring for her family. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by those she loved. Tina always had a smile on her face and a kind word to all those she met. She was a lifelong parishioner of St Mary's Church in Brownsville, as well as a member of the Christian Mother’s. For 59 years, Tina worked every Friday night at Bingo at the Sons of Italy in Brownsville.
In addition to her parents, Tina is preceded in death by her Husband, Andrew S. Pitek, Sr; Grandson, Brandon L. Sutherland; Son-in-law, A.G. Sutherland and her Siblings: Frank Vetter, Mary Williard, Kathryn Durigon, Helen Hanula, Dorothy Miller, Eleanor Kreuter, Vera Dando, Cecelia Harmon and Evelyn Mohney.
Tina is survived by her children, Andrew S. Pitek, Jr. of Belle Vernon, PA; Gary (Gail) Pitek of Brownsville, PA; Kristy (Thomas) Litavec of Fayette City, PA; Colleen Sutherland of Grindstone, PA; Lisa (De) Pitek of Brownsville, PA. Grandchildren: Amee (Nathanael) Pearson of Allen, TX; Jennifer (Matthew) Hvozdik of Elizabeth, PA; Corey Sutherland of Grindstone, PA; Ryan (Lara) Pitek of Prosper, TX and Douglas (Emily) Pitek of Belle Vernon, PA. Great grandchildren: Jack and Blake Hvozdik, Tyler Sutherland, Madelyn, Bethenny and Alivia Pearson, Nora Pitek, and Owen and Lucas Pitek.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our 2 OSPTA Hospice angels Sharisse and Theresa for their loving care.
Visitation and Funeral Services are private for her immediate family only.
A private Funeral Mass was held at The Historic Church of St. Peter with The Rev. Fr. Efren Ambre as Celebrant. Entombment was in LaFayette Memorial Park.
