Amelia Dolores "Mil" Apone

Amelia Dolores Apone (Mil), formerly of Brownsville, PA died on Friday, January 25, 2013 at LaFayette Manor. Mil was the daughter of the late Peter and Carmella (Puglia) Apone. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Gabrielle, Dora, Yolanda, Theresa Brothers: Louis and Carl Her Family owned and operated Apone's Bar & Restaurant in Brownsville for over 70 years. Mil is the dearly beloved Aunt of Jilda Apone, Jacqueline Apone Kennedy, Cynthia and John Deermount, Thomas and Arlene Apone, Karla and Frank Sabec. She is also survived by six great-nephews and two great-nieces. Mil was employed by The Fayette County Board of Assistance as a Supervisor for many years where her work ethic was much appreciated. All of those who knew and loved her will remember her generous spirit, loving heart, and infectious wit. Mil has left behind many vivid memories and will never be forgotten. Friends will be received in The Skirpan Funeral Home 135 Park Street Brownsville, PA on Monday, January 28th from 2-6PM and on Tuesday until 10:30AM where a prayer service will be held, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at The Historic Church of St. Peter - Brownsville, PA - with Rev. Fr. Joseph D. Armamento as celebrant. Interment will follow in Redstone Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Monday at 3:00PM.
